Are you a Licensed Practical Nurse who is committed to enhancing the quality of life for people with mental illnesses by providing a broad continuum of care? Do you want to explore inpatient psychiatric nursing which uses both heart and mind to support patients on their road to recovery?
We know that our clients can grow stronger and more independent with the help of our skilled nursing staff. Eastern State Hospital (ESH) is composed of three clinical areas: Forensic Services Unit, Adult Psychiatric Unit, and Geropsychiatric Unit.
ESH has outstanding benefits and opportunities for advancement. These are full time and on call Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and Psychiatric Security Nurse (PSN) opportunities!
**On a regular basis you'll:**
* Provide patient care and security to individuals who have a chronic mental illness, display high risk behaviors and medical problems
* Exchange pertinent clinical information during shift change
* Administer medications and treatments
* Complete medication orders and Pyxis/electronic documentation
* Implement security policies and requirements
* Provide patient education
* Move and transfer patients; de-escalate patients; and escort and transport patients
**We're looking for someone who has:**
A valid Washington State license as a practical nurse, or the ability to obtain a valid license prior to employment.
Psychiatric Security Nurse's also have two years of experience caring for patients or residents in a hospital, school, mental health or treatment facility.
