# Postion Information
## Summary of Duties
As a Post-doctoral scholar in the Winuthayanon Lab, a successful candidate will develop his/her own project investigating the function of steroid hormones in the female reproductive tract and their application as novel contraceptives using state of the art technologies in animal model systems. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and enjoy a collaborative atmosphere with the lab and the School of Molecular Biosciences.
Responsibilities Include:
* Investigating the roles of steroids and their classical receptors using a conditional knockout technology in the context of female reproduction and their applications as contraceptives.
* Presenting the research through poster/oral presentation and peer-reviewed publication.
* Designing, carrying out, and troubleshooting experiments in the lab.
* Demonstrating commitment to promoting diversity in the workplace.
* Coordinate, manage, and maintain daily lab operations.
* Oversee quality control and make suggestions for improvement in techniques and interpretation.
* Supervise undergraduate/graduate students in the lab.
* Perform other duties as required.

## Required Qualifications
* Ph.D. in Genetics, Physiology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology or a related field.
* Experience with transgenic mouse models, genetics, animal husbandry, and colony management.
* Experience with histological and microscopy techniques.
* Experience in bioinformatics and gene expression profiling.
* Experience with confocal microscopy, DNA, RNA, protein extraction, and qRT-PCR.
* Excellent computer skills, especially with ImageJ/FIJI, GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, EndNote, and Mac OS.
* Willing to learn new experimental techniques and problem solve.
* Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written.
## Preferred Qualifications
* Basic knowledge of viral and bacterial infections/transfections and cell culture.
* Basic knowledge of R software and single cell RNA-seq is desired.
* No more than one year of post-doc experience.
